How DockPilot handles account, support, billing, and device licence data.

Overview

DockPilot is built for managed Mac environments. We collect the minimum information needed to create accounts, deliver licence profiles, provide support, process billing, and keep managed Dock updates licensed.

Information you provide

  • Organisation name, contact name, work email, phone number, and address entered during signup.
  • Support ticket messages, attachments, screenshots, exported support files, and replies.
  • Newsletter signup details if you choose to subscribe.
  • Billing contact and subscription state provided by Stripe. DockPilot does not store card details.

Website analytics

  • DockPilot uses privacy-friendly website analytics to understand visitor numbers, popular pages, referring sites, approximate location, browser, and device type.
  • Analytics are used for public marketing and documentation pages so we can improve the website.
  • Admin, customer dashboard, support, setup, password reset, sign-in, and API routes are excluded from DockPilot website analytics.
  • DockPilot does not use website analytics to read form contents, support messages, uploaded files, licence tokens, or payment details.

Information from DockPilot Clients

  • Organisation and licence identifiers from your DockPilot licence profile.
  • A privacy-preserving device hash used to recognise the same Mac for licensing and support.
  • Hostname, macOS version, DockPilot version, licence status, last check-in time, and basic deployment status.
  • Support diagnostics you deliberately export or upload through a support ticket.

What DockPilot does not collect

  • DockPilot does not send raw Mac serial numbers to the backend.
  • DockPilot does not collect full device inventory.
  • DockPilot does not read personal documents, emails, browser history, or user files.
  • DockPilot does not store full enrolment tokens or device tokens in the customer portal.
  • DockPilot does not sell customer data.

Service providers

DockPilot uses trusted service providers to run the website, database, email, file storage, analytics, and billing. These currently include hosting and database infrastructure, SMTP email delivery, Vercel Web Analytics, and Stripe for subscription billing.

Your choices

  • You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time.
  • You can cancel subscriptions through the customer billing portal.
  • You can request support ticket closure from the customer portal.
  • You can uninstall DockPilot from managed Macs using the Complete Uninstall guide.
